The Council for Excellence in Government is a national, nonprofit and nonpartisan organization whose mission is improving the performance of government and the connection between citizens and their government. We believe that government of the people, by the people and for the people strengthens our society and our democracy.
To achieve this, the Council for Excellence in Government works to: encourage innovation and results-oriented performance in government; connect citizens to their government and encourage civic participation; attract and develop the best and brightest for public service; and promote the use of technology as a powerful resource for excellence in government. We reach out to every part of the American community, drawing on a national network of business, government, foundation, education, nonprofit and media partners who share and support our objectives.
